It's true that we don't have branches on every corner like some of the huge banks, but we offer plenty of convenience services that allow easy access to your Connex account when it's convenient for you. These include:

ATM Locations and Fees
One of the biggest convenience features we offer to our members is the Allpoint ATM network. More than 37,000 ATMs across the country are surcharge-free for Connex members. In convenient places like pharmacies and gas stations, these ATMs offer another access point to your Connex account.

Once you're on the Allpoint website, simply enter your phone number, select your device type and carrier and your Allpoint application will be sent to you in a text message. Follow the prompts to enjoy more than 40,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide... all from the palm of your hand.
Additionally, members with Unbank Checking, our newest high-yield checking account, can save more money with rebates, up to $20 per month, on foreign ATM transactions (on non-Connex and non-Allpoint ATMs.)
Fees
As a credit union we are very different from banks, and part of our responsibility is to ensure we're making sound financial decisions on behalf of our member owners. The difficult decision to pass some expenses on to members in the form of fees is part of our core value to ensure we are still able to offer competitive rates on savings and loans and robust offerings like online services, free ATMs, etc.
All of our fees are structured so that they are avoidable with with proper account use and proactive maintenance, so that certainly does make us different than a bank. All of our team members are happy to show you ways to improve your financial life by maintaining your account and not incurring fees.
Speed Within Online Banking
Some members mentioned concerns about the history pages within Online Banking being slow. In mid-August we did go through a system upgrade that has improved the speed within this service. We continually work with our vendors and partners to improve the experience within our website and Online Banking.
Low Savings Rates
We 100% agree that it is a challenging interest rate environment for savers and that it means we're not able to offer as attractive savings rates as we have in the past. The absolute truth is that it again points back to our responsibility as a credit union to make sound financial decisions. In this rate environment Connex is unable to invest our assets at high rates, so in turn, we're not able to offer high rates back to our members on savings accounts. On the flip side, this is a great time for mortgage and loan rates. We're happy to offer our Savings Analysis process that collects just a few pieces of information and has already saved our members thousands of dollars.
The good news is that we have some solid options for our members including our Unbank Checking Account that earns a high interest rate as well as MEMBERS Financial Services, our no-cost, no-obligation investment service.
Loan Declines
Unfortunately a reflection of the tough economic environment we're in, we aren't able to help as many members as we'd like with their lending needs. Declining credit scores and home values are just two of the factors that lead us to loan declines. We stand by these decisions as sound financial choices for both the member and the credit union.
One cool tool we offer is SmartScore - a quarterly notification of your credit score range - that can help monitor your score, especially if you're working on improving it.
