Savings Challenge 2009
For an entire year, four families participated in the Connex 2009 Savings Challenge contest. Each family worked closely with a Connex financial coach throughout the year to set savings goals tailored to their individual financial situations. Their successes were documented and closely monitored for the entire year. A panel of judges reviewed each team’s progress and a winner was selected. The winning family received a grand prize of $10,000 and the other three families were rewarded with $1,000 prize for their efforts.
The ultimate payout for one local family is not just the prize money, but a newfound financial “education” that will stay with them for a lifetime. We recently awarded Guilford residents, Christopher and Lori Roche and their five children, the grand prize of $10,000 for their participation in the 2009 Savings Challenge. The Roche family was surprised at the Guilford Connex branch by a team of Connex employees, who brought balloons, flowers and an oversized check in their name for $10,000.
